JM Financial Limited, the flagship listed company of the Group, is led by the Chairman & Managing Director , Mr. Nimesh Kampani. The members of the Board meet periodically to discuss and review the performance of the Company.

In his career spanning more than three and a half decades, Mr. Kampani has made pioneering contributions to the development of the Indian capital markets and has advised several corporates on their strategic and financial needs, especially, capital raising and mergers & acquisitions.

Mr. Kampani has served as a member on several important committees constituted by the Bombay Stock Exchange, FICCI, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and National Stock Exchange Limited. He was a member of the Primary Market Advisory Committee of SEBI and also a member of the High Powered Expert Committee constituted by the Ministry of Finance on making Mumbai an International Finance Centre. He was also a member of the National Council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Chairman of the CII’s National Committee on Capital Markets. He was a member of the Advisory Panel on Financial Regulation and Supervision of the Committee on Financial Sector Assessment constituted by Reserve Bank of India.

Mr. Kampani is also an active member on the Board of several leading Indian companies such as Apollo Tyres Limited, Britannia Industries Limited, Deepak Nitrite Limited and KSB Pumps Limited.

Mr. Kampani is a commerce graduate from Sydenham College, and a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Dr. Vijay Kelkar
Dr. Vijay Kelkar holds a doctorate in development economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He is the former Finance Secretary to the Government of India. He has held many senior level positions in the Government of India including the most recent position as the Chairman of the Finance Commission; Advisor to Minister of Finance; Finance Secretary, Government of India; Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Chairman of the Tariff Commission. He has also served in several key posts in international organizations such as Director and Coordinator of International Trade Division, UNCTAD, Switzerland and Executive Director for India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Bhutan at the International Monetary Fund, USA.

Dr. Kelkar is currently the Chairman of India Development Foundation, India & Chairman, Forum of Federations, Canada. He is also a Non-executive Chairman of National Stock Exchange of India Limited and is a director on the Boards of Tata Consultancy Services Limited, JSW Steel Limited and Lupin Limited.

Mr. Ashith N Kampani, aged 46 years, has over 29 years of experience in the Indian capital markets. During these 29 years, he has been servicing various segments including retail, high net worth individuals, corporates and institutional investors globally of the investment banking and broking business of JM Financial Group.
Mr. Ashith N Kampani, who is a younger brother of Mr. Nimesh N Kampani, began his career with the family’s stock broking firm in 1982, and then, from 1991 to 2007, he was engaged in various group ventures including his stint with JM Financial’s Institutional equity broking joint venture with Morgan Stanley. Currently he looks after the business development for the Group.
Mr. Ashith N Kampani is a member of the managing committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is the Chairman of Young Bombay Forum, the initiative taken by Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry to nurture young leaders in India to become globally competitive and contribute towards nation building. He is not on the Board of any other public company.

Mr. E. A. Kshirsagar is the Chairman of the Audit Committee of JM Financial Ltd.. He is a specialist in corporate strategy and structure, disinvestments-Central/State/Private Sector, feasibility studies for a variety of industries and the impact of legislations on business. An eminent Chartered Accountant, he was associated with the Management Consultancy Division of AF Ferguson for over three decades, retiring in 2004 as Director-in-Charge.

Mr. Kshirsagar also serves on the Board of several reputed public limited companies

Mr. Kshirsagar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and is a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and FCA (England & Wales).

Mr. Udwadia is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Bombay High Court and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England, U.K.

Mr. D. E. Udwadia, Founder Partner, M/s. Udwadia & Udeshi, Solicitors & Advocates, acts as a Legal Counsel for numerous Indian companies, multinational corporations and foreign banks in India. He was a partner of M/s. Crawford Bayley & Co., Solicitors & Advocates, for 20 years, prior to setting up the law firm of M/s. Udwadia & Udeshi. He has spent over 44 years in active law practice and has vast experience and expertise in the areas like corporate law, mergers, acquisitions and takeovers, corporate restructuring, foreign collaboration, joint ventures, project and infrastructure finance, telecommunication, international loan and finance related transactions and instruments, real estate and conveyancing. He also serves on the Board of several reputed public limited companies.

Dr. Pravin P Shah, Partner, M/s. Pravin P Shah & Co., Chartered Accountants, Mumbai, has over 39 years of experience (including 6 years in the United States of America) in the areas of financial consultancy, corporate structuring/restructuring, taxation, management consultancy, valuation, property matters and accounting. He has contributed several technical papers at conferences and published books and articles in India and the USA on the abovementioned subjects. He also serves on the Board of eminent public limited companies.

Dr. Shah is a Ph.D. in Cost Accounting from the University of Bombay (now Mumbai) and is also a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant.

Mr. Paul Zuckerman, Chairman & CEO of Zuckerman & Associates Ltd., has been associated with various international organisations, including World Bank and International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Ibadan, Nigeria. He was Chairman, SG Warburg & Co., prior to its acquisition by UBS. In this capacity he was closely associated with Indian companies in the early days of globalisation in India. He is also a director on the Board of several Indian and foreign companies.

Mr. Zuckerman is a B.A. (Hons), M.A and has also done his Ph.D in Agricultural Economics from Reading University, United Kingdom.
